BENCH 111 HESWALL
A simply stunning C19th cast iron bench from the late 1900's measuring over 6’ long. Also known as the Crookdale or Glenverbie bench this is a rare example made in the famous Scottish Carron Foundry in Falkirk. It is extremely heavy and sturdy with white painted weathered hardwood seat and back. The cast iron ends are in excellent condition and could well last another 125 years. One hardwood slat has been replaced but we understand that the remaining slats are original. Please note the thickness of the seating and the scotia edge moulding. A true Victorian, ever appreciating antique garden bench.
Provenance, the vendors parents bought the bench in Dumbarton from the local doctor and kept it for over 70 years.
