A gorgeous, small upright railway bench from the early Victorian period, one of many that used to adorn rail stations up and down the country a hundred years ago. It came into our workshop needing a new seat, which was replaced with two planks of European Oak fixed with stainless steel carriage bolts. The shaped, original back rest was salvaged, cleaned up and fixed again with new bolts. All the hardwood was treated with two coats of Danish oil. The solid, cast iron supports were rubbed down and painted two coats of satin black metal paint. A great bench for your urban garden or terrace.
