BENCH 30 DORSET
A substantial and rare 6’ long Victorian bench of late C19th origins manufactured by the Carron Company of Falkirk Scotland. It was made to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1870 and shows designs and motifs that were very popular in that period. The ornate bench supports show a Crown and Thistle, a Rose and a Shamrock amongst an abundance of Acanthus leaves, collectively portraying the Union or Royal pattern, bringing together the nations of The British Isles. At the head of the scrolled armrest there is a Lions Head. The bench supports and hardwood seating are aged, not restored by British Benches, but in perfectly usable condition. This wonderful piece of garden iron art is ideal for a permanent fixture overlooking your garden or grounds.
